Diving the Great Barrier Reef presents a myriad of options. To start with the Great Barrier Reef extends more than 2000km along the coast of Australia with the towns of Gladstone, Bundaberg, Rockhampton, Mackay, Airlie Beach, Ayr, Townsville, Cairns, Port Douglas, Cape Tribulation and Cooktown all offering trips to dive the reef.

Over my years working in the dive industry I have had the priviliege to experience both great hospitality and great diving with many operators, and for a few years I was the one offering the hospitailty. Now I have put those years of experience to good use in the form of a 'Diving Guide to the Great Barrier Reef'. This guide's purpose is not to provide you with THE operator or THE place to dive on the Great Barrier Reef, instead it serves to give you the knowledge to find an operator and location which suits your ideal. In addition it gives contact points for agents and diving companies which I am happy to recommend. Of course, as I am slightly biased towars underwater photography there is also some specific recommendations for those wishing to indluge in that past time.
